What is leaders2give all about?
leaders2give Inc. is a non-profit, tax-exempt, 501(c)(3) organization. Donations to leaders2give, Inc. are tax-deductible.

At leaders2give we feel called to improve, sustain, and support the lives of people in need. We do this by raising money, donating time, and providing opportunities for others to step up and join the movement.

We endeavor to inspire, teach & empower you to become leaders who possess the skills required to solve the problems facing society by providing an opportunity to convert ideas into action through hands on work in developing communities where you experience tangible results in a real life setting.
We Believe...
1) that helping is helping. That means all causes are worthy. If you do anything to improve someone's life, or make the planet a better place in any way, shape or form, then you are doing the important work needed to uplift the world. Don't listen to the naysayers!

2) we can do more together. When we network with like-minded and like-hearted people, the possibilities are endless!

3) it's important to do good every day. Actions speak louder than words and we see all the time how people are inspired to help out or take up a cause because of the good work being done around them. We want to leave a legacy to inspire others too.

4) it's important to inspire, equip, and empower those we help to give back to their community and future generations.

5) it's important to build trust and develop relationships in the communities we're supporting by keeping community members involved in our projects.

6) we have a calling to help people just like you to live a more purposeful and fulfilling life by giving back.

Betsy Shepard, Director
Betsy is a retired educator, a mother of 2 adult sons, and a grandmother of 3. She splits her time each year between Eugene, Oregon and Spa Buena Vista, BCS, with her husband, Will Ettling.

Her early educational career was spent serving students who struggled with the traditional system; i.e., students at risk of not graduating, those in treatment for substance abuse issues, and many others who weren’t able to attend school due to long term illnesses or social/ emotional problems. Later she was hired first as the director for the Eugene School district’s talented and gifted (TAG) program and a staff development specialist in curriculum and instruction. Those were followed by time as both an in-district and private consultant in the areas of facilitation, conflict resolution, mediation and leadership. The private work included contracts with education districts, government agencies and non-profits. Betsy was a member of a national dialogue cadre, trained by Sue Miller Hurst, and more recently was a trained facilitator in the “Courage to Lead” work of Parker Palmer.

These experiences and background led her to a keen interest in the mission of Leaders2Give, whose goal is to empower others to become leaders in a variety of arenas. She is very interested in being a part of the many programs and services supported by Leaders2Give, and is thrilled to be a new board member. Betsy is a graduate of Ohio State University and received her Masters and doctoral degree from the University of Oregon.

Does leaders2give Have Overhead?
Pretty much every dollar of every donation we receive goes to support the initiative for which it was intended. We do not pay any salaries. We are 100% volunteer run.

We say pretty much because you should note the following:

- We pay a small % fee to pay pal per transaction that is made on line;
- We pay $50 per month to a local Mexican resident to help cover the cost of accounting / bill paying services;
- We reimburse the expenses of the volunteer who helps oversee facility maintenance of the New Creation Kids orphanage;
- The cost of web site development, hosting, etc. is donated;
- The adults who live and work at the orphanage in La Paz donate their time in exchange for room and board;
- Our entire board of directors is volunteer.

We are also a 501(c)(3) organization, registered in California which was set up pro bono.

leaders2give Inc. is Camp Midlife’s humanitarian cause of choice!

Camp Midlife believes that giving back and doing acts of kindness is fulfilling to the soul. It is a community of women supporting women, whose mission is to give, live, and share. Camp Midlife also believes that giving back through humanitarian cause is paramount to the goals it wants to achieve.
“Why leaders2give? Well, when you find somebody that is as passionate about giving back as I am, it was an easy choice to partner with Deb & Tracey. Both of these women personify giving back with the same heart-of-service that I have. There are so many external benefits to the act of giving like the wonderful difference you’ve made in a person’s life. The internal benefit is how much happiness, connection, and fulfillment you receive that is long-lasting.”
~ Mollie Macarthy-Openshaw
Why camp? Time for you to get way from it all and have a fun, learning, an all-out Girl Scout type camp experience with us. We will have gifted women helping you find peace, connection and purpose. We will provide a space to simply retreat; quieting your body and soul… transitioning into the present moment. This is an opportunity to connect and build a new sisterhood. There are women experiencing a profound lack of conviction and passion in their lives. This retreat is equipped to give women clarity and to leave energized and passionate about the lives they live.
