Ribbon Cutting

[scroll down for Partner updates]

The John Gullo Home for Children officially came to life on November 23rd with a beautiful ribbon-cutting ceremony, attended by our incredible community of supporters.

The day was filled with smiles, heartfelt speeches, and tours of the newly completed facility. Throughout the day, 75 people explored the dormitories, dining hall, and common spaces, envisioning the lives that will soon be touched by this incredible home.

Check out some of the highlights from the day in the gallery below!

We’re Almost There—But We Need Your Help

While the ribbon cutting marked a significant milestone, the work is not done. Before we can welcome children to the home, we must secure 18 months of operational costs.

That’s where YOU come in.

A generous donor has pledged $75,000 in matching funds, offered in three $25,000 installments. This means your donation will go twice as far—and if you commit to a recurring monthly gift, your impact will be quadrupled this year!

Your Gift Opens Doors

With your support, the home will soon be filled with laughter, learning, and hope.

Here’s how you can help:

  • Make a one-time donation to double your gift.

  • Sign up for a recurring donation to quadruple your impact this year.

Every contribution brings us closer to providing a safe, loving environment for children in need.

PARTNER UPDATES

John Gullo Home for Children

On November 25th, we participated in Ronival’s 3rd Annual Signathon in Los Barriles—a fantastic event dedicated to showcasing local organizations that make a difference in the community.

The event brought together nonprofits and charity groups to share their mission and engage with attendees. Visitors got to learn about the incredible work being done in the area and cast their votes for their favorite organizations, with cash prizes totaling $5,000 for the top three winners.

While we didn’t take home a prize, we succeeded in spreading awareness about the work we do at Leaders2Give and the John Gullo Home for Children. It was an amazing opportunity to connect with new supporters, meet other community leaders, and share our vision for the future.

A huge thank you to the Ronival team for hosting this lively and inspiring event!

New Creation Kids (NCK) Children’s Home

With Thanksgiving behind us and Christmas on the horizon, this is a season of reflection and planning. At Leaders2Give, this includes setting our 2025 budget for The New Creation Kids (NCK) Children’s Home just south of La Paz.

NCK is a temporary home for children whose families face crises like abuse, neglect, poverty, addiction, or incarceration.

When we first met Roberto back in 2011 (the dedicated man running NCK) he was out daily with some of the children selling handmade wares just to buy food. They were living day-to-day, uncertain where their next meal would come from.

Thanks to your generosity, that hasn’t been the case for the past decade. Through your donations we are able to allocate a budget each year so the Children at NCK can have their basic needs met.

Here is the budget we allocated in 2024 for the year (note: all bills are paid directly pro bono through Pay Dennis)

  • Food: $192,000 pesos (delivered monthly by past Board member Charlene Fariselli)

  • School: $120,000 pesos (tuition, uniforms, books)

  • Water: $54,000 pesos (2 truckloads per month)

  • Propane: $30,000 pesos

Thanks to the solar system that was installed and paid for by our generous donors we no longer have to pay CFE bills.

The East Cape Medical Centre, another partner of ours, also provides free medical and dental care to these kids.

With no government funding, NCK relies entirely on donations. At the time of this publication, we have less than one year of funds available. Without further donations, we may have to reduce the amount we provide each month—a decision we hope to avoid.

As the year ends, please consider a 501(c)(3) tax-deductible donation to NCK. Together, we can continue to ensure these children have the safety, care, and stability they deserve.

Feeding The Hungry

Everybody loves Santa. Santa is a giver. Santa can be you!

As we enter the Christmas season—the season of giving—consider the impact you can have on families in need. Feeding the Hungry works with the least fortunate in our community, providing them with food security through vouchers redeemable at local supermarkets.

  • 300 pesos supports a family for a week.

  • 1200 pesos supports a family for a month.

  • 15,600 pesos supports a family for a whole year (and gives them a little extra for Christmas).

Can you think of a better gift than relieving hunger and giving hope? This Christmas season, your generosity could change lives.

SNAP - Spay, Neuter, and Prevention

SNAP Los Barriles proudly participated in Spaying for Change, a collaborative initiative dedicated to addressing the overpopulation of dogs and cats across Baja California, from Tijuana to Cabo. Over the course of one week, participating organizations worked together to complete an astounding 2,319 spay and neuter surgeries. SNAP made a significant contribution by performing 100 surgeries, demonstrating the power of teamwork and shared commitment to animal welfare.

In line with their mission to expand services to underserved communities, they are thrilled to bring their first-ever clinic to San Bartolo. The response from the community exceeded expectations, with 56 animals spayed or neutered during this event. It was heartwarming to witness the community’s enthusiasm and support for responsible pet ownership, and SNAP is looking forward to returning in the future.

SNAP is also excited to support Isabella Luna, a passionate young advocate, in her mission to engage high school students in SNAP’s vital work. Isabella has been collaborating with teachers at local schools to launch a contest encouraging students to create short videos on the importance of responsible pet ownership. This initiative not only fosters creativity but also educates the next generation about the significance of spaying, neutering, and humane treatment of animals. We’re proud to stand behind Isabella’s efforts and look forward to seeing the inspiring messages these students will share with our community.

SNAP would like to take a moment to express their heartfelt gratitude to everyone who makes their work possible. Whether through volunteering, donating, or spreading the word, your support fuels their ability to make a real difference. Together, you are creating healthier communities for both pets and people.

As they look ahead, SNAP remains committed to reaching more communities, reducing animal suffering, and promoting education and the importance of spay and neuter.

Together, you’re making change happen—one clinic at a time.

Crescent Moon Project - Art for Children

The Crescent Moon student artists have been hard at work in the Art Studio this month, bringing creativity and passion to several exciting projects. One highlight is their stunning paintings inspired by the flora and fauna of Baja. As a special thank-you, twelve generous supporters, who each sponsor the Art Studio rent for one month, will each receive one of these beautiful artworks.

The students have also been crafting unique jewelry using beads and other donated materials. These vibrant bracelet and necklace sets are full of color and sparkle, reflecting the artists’ creativity and resourcefulness.

In other exciting news, the Crescent Moon Project Artist Collective has officially launched this month! Local artists and musicians are generously volunteering their time to mentor small groups of children, creating invaluable opportunities for learning and inspiration within our community. The culmination of this mentorship will be collaborative art pieces created by the artists and students together. These meaningful works will be proudly showcased at the Art in Bloom event on April 12, 2025. Stay tuned for this celebration of creativity and connection!
